Over 150 students from several counties transform robots into race cars at a competition held in Bistrița
A competition where students transform robots into race cars is taking place these days in Bistrița. Over 150 students from various counties are showcasing their talents at this event dedicated to technology enthusiasts.
Even though it's vacation time, young technology enthusiasts have been hard at work creating high-performance robots that resemble race cars or off-road vehicles, albeit in miniature form.

Contestant: "The robot has to perform certain tasks. It needs to pick up specific hexagonal objects with this claw, then it has to be placed on a 60-degree angle board, and we do this with the help of this pivot".
Contestants: "We have a robot with four wheels, each wheel has an independent motor. It has a hard tire for better traction and more off-road capability to easily overcome any obstacle".
Contestant: "The battery is charged now, so it worked very well. For the components we had, the performance is very good, 5.6 seconds is excellent".
Reporter: How long did it take you to build it?
Contestant: "8 hours".
Those who couldn't join the contestants at the Polyvalent Hall of Bucharest could follow the competition online. A team streamed the event live.
The Bolts & Speed event has reached its third edition and is organized by two high schools in Bistrița.
Emilia Cupșa, organizer: "This theme that we tackle every year brings us knowledge of robotics. We remodel them into race cars simply for our fun and to learn from each other".
The final stage of the competition takes place on July 7th, and the best creations will be awarded.
