Jasper granted PLN 27,000 to purchase a Tesla.
On 23 October, the influencer announced on TikTok that he had received a PLN 27,000 grant from the Polish government towards his electric car purchase. One viewer’s sarcastic comment, "Beautiful, this is what my taxes are going towards," quickly became the most popular response under the video. The funding was part of Poland's 'My Electric Car' programme, which provides subsidies for fully electric vehicles. The scheme is open to all citizens, not just affluent influencers, and is restricted to new car purchases.
Obligatory stickers
One of the conditions for receiving the grant required grantees to place a prominent sticker on their vehicle, visibly indicating the government’s contribution. Jasper was less than thrilled with this requirement. The sticker is meant to be placed on the rear boot lid (electric cars often have an additional front boot under the bonnet), the front doors, or the wing. However, it appears the TikToker missed this detail, as his sticker ended up on the rear wing of "Żanetka."
Commenters pointed out this was not the only oversight. Jasper also neglected to remove the transparent protective film from the sticker, leaving individual letters awkwardly adhered to the car. Although visibly displeased in the video about having to display the sticker, he added in the caption, "For this money, I could plaster Jasperina's face all over."
One commenter reflected, "Pretty cool, but by that logic, everyone who takes public transport should be able to ride for free."
