World record for an electric car: it traveled over 1,553 miles on a single battery charge
A group of students from the Technical University of Munich has created a unique electric car that has set a world record for autonomy.
Named "muc022", the prototype vehicle traveled around 1,599 miles on a single battery charge.

muc022 is equipped with a battery of only 15.5 kWh and achieved this performance during a six-day test in a hangar at Munich Airport, according to arstechnica.com.
The vehicle, which can reach a maximum speed of 26 mph and weighs 374 lbs without a driver, used a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with 400 watts - which is 268 times less powerful than the least powerful electric vehicle currently available on the market, the Mazda MX-30.
