Tîlvăr emphasized that there is a project that provides for those who wish to undergo four months of military training, following which they will receive some benefits.

"I have stated and I reiterate: this issue is not on the table. The military is not mandatory and, as you know, there is a project regarding the service of voluntary military personnel, which will also regulate the possibility for those who wish to have military training for various reasons. It is a period of up to 4 months, involving people aged between 18 and 35", said Angel Tîlvăr on Digi 24, according to News.ro.

He specified that those who choose voluntary military training will receive, during the training period, an allowance, accommodation, food, equipment, and at the end, three gross average salaries, according to the project.

The Minister of National Defense also asserts that, irrespective of the electoral cycle, the matter of mandatory military service "is not under consideration".
