More and more young people in Romania choose to postpone their important life plans due to the rising costs of living
Candidates are applying for jobs in a pragmatical way, aiming for stable jobs with higher salaries or directing themselves towards future-oriented fields, as revealed by a study published on Thursday by an online recruitment platform.
According to Bestjobs, the current economic context is shifting the priorities of Romanians when it comes to their careers as well as personal lives, with these two aspects being more interconnected than ever before, as cited by Agerpres.

An increasing number of young people in Romania are choosing to postpone or even cancel important life plans, such as starting a family or buying a home, due to the costs of living and economic developments, as shown by a recent study published by Deloitte and cited by the recruitment platform.
According to the research, in terms of professional plans, candidates are seeking jobs that offer long-term security or are heading towards rapidly developing professional areas, such as IT and cybersecurity, renewable energy, digital content, financial investments and healthcare.
Furthermore, candidates continue to explore the job market, submitting an average of over half a million applications per month, according to the cited source.
"It's no longer a surprise that job stability has become an essential aspect when it comes to career choices. Romanian employees, however, continue to consistently apply on Bestjobs, both in the hope of accessing higher salaries and to stay updated on the requirements of the job market.
We can see new fields emerging that promise a future career and are attracting more and more candidates due to technological advancements and people's lifestyles. For example, people's concern for mental health has led to an increased demand for psychologists and therapists, just as the need for better financial management has increased the interest in financial analysts and investment brokers.
When it comes to technology, we notice a high demand for AI specialists and data security experts, as well as engineers in renewable energy. Some of these jobs didn't even exist 10 years ago or weren't as sought after, indicating the accelerated pace at which the world we live in is developing", stated Ana Vişian, marketing manager at Bestjobs.
Jobs of the "future" usually attract young candidates with relevant studies.
Thus, the new jobs belong to rapidly developing fields and require candidates with specific knowledge, most of them targeting individuals in the 18-35 age group, as the studies for some of these fields have recently emerged.
Among the most common job offers in these fields are: E-commerce Sales Specialist - 900-1,400 euros net, Therapist/Psychologist - 800-1,200 euros net, Renewable Energy Specialist - 1,100-1,600 euros net, Digital Content Creator - 600-1,000 euros net, Nutritionist - 600-1,000 euros net, Investment Broker - 1,100-1,800 euros net, Cybersecurity/Network Engineer - 1,500-2,300 euros net, Data Analyst - 1,800-2,200 euros net, Data Security Officer - 1,000-1,500 euros net and Manager - 1,200-1,700 euros net.
In addition to salaries, the demand for certain fields also represents a relevant indicator for candidates seeking stable employment.
Thus, across the entire job offering on Bestjobs, 3% of the job announcements are in the Health field, 8% in IT, 9.5% in Finance/Accounting, 9.4% in Engineering, and 15% in Sales.
