The written examinations of the Baccalaureate, the autumn session, concluded with a sad outcome. One out of five high school graduates who failed in the summer and re-enrolled three weeks ago did not show up.
Furthermore, the numbers show that from this generation, only 40% of students obtained their diploma. The rest either did not complete their studies or did not pass the Baccalaureate exam on their first attempt.

The candidates who arrived for the final examination of the Baccalaureate calmly accept their results from the previous session.
They had two months to review the material and many are confident that they have learned enough. However, not all those who failed on their first attempt came to the autumn session. 20% of those who registered three weeks ago did not show up for the examinations.
The first school bell rang 12 years ago. The Minister of Education at the time, Funeriu, introduced video cameras in the exam rooms and ruined the plans of many candidates.
In 2011, 206,000 children took their seats in the first-grade classrooms. 12% of them disappeared from the statistics during the primary and secondary school cycle. They dropped out of school, repeated grades or went abroad.
This figure would be equivalent to 1,000 classes with 25 students each. Then, in the twelfth grade, only 110,000 from this generation took the Baccalaureate exam. Only 80,000 passed the Baccalaureate exam, which is 40% of the initial figure.
"Competition"
High school graduates say that the main problem for them was the poor quality of teachers.
Students: "In all subjects...Competition...".
"Competition" refers to those who deliver food from a different company than the one where a candidate works.
Student: "I do food delivery in my spare time".
R: For how long?
Student: "For about a month, I think".
R: And when do you study for school?
Student: "Well, I've started studying for two weeks".
In the five days remaining until the results, the 28,000 students have time to think. If they pass the exam, they can enroll in college, but unfortunately, many want to emigrate.
Student: "I'm going to Germany. Bartender, waiter, whatever is available".
Mariana Staș, educational program coordinator: "It also depends on their expectations, both in the family and with their parents, and what they want from their life. Any profession is as honorable as can be and requires training".
Graduates who do not find employment right away can receive 300 lei per month, unemployment benefits, for half a year. They will receive health insurance and work experience during this period and can begin free qualification courses in various fields.
