Interrogations under Debora Case Going on
The interrogation of witnesses under the Debora case is going on in Plovdiv. The defendant is her ex-boyfriend - security guard Georgi Georgiev. He was accused of inflicting 18 stab wounds with a dummy knife, forcibly cutting her hair and threatening to kill her.
On Friday, the District Court in Plovdiv first questioned the victim, Debora Mihaylova, who got over 400 stitches on her face and body. Then the main ten witnesses gave their testimony.
Before entering the courtroom, Debora shared that "the first hearing went according to plan" and she was hoping the next ones would go the same way. The young girl also said that she would wait for the testimony of all the witnesses and only then she would give her version to the court.
"The only thing we expect is justice. We are doing the same as we did at the previous hearing. We are expecting the truth, nothing else", said Debora Mihaylova.
The court questioned as many other people as the witnesses. Then, on two different days, it would hear the experts who prepared the experts’ reports, including the most disputed one - the forensic medical report.
Debora's atorneys and the prosecutor's office asked for the maximum sentence for the defendant - ten years in prison. The case was heard behind closed doors.
