It has already been established that it was a resident of the capital city who disappeared in the waves of the sea on June 28 while rescuing a woman who went in to bathe, although there was a red flag and entering the sea was absolutely prohibited. The police in Burgas clarified that the unfortunate events took place after 6 pm on the respective day, when there were no more lifeguards on the beach.
Taking into account that sea entertainment is especially loved by representatives of Gen Z in the summer season, when they are away from their study, we would remind one more time what the different colors of the flags mean.
Green means that there are no waves and dangerous phenomena and entry to the buoys is allowed for all adults and children over 12 unaccompanied and children under 12 - accompanied by an adult.
Yellow - people should be careful and those under 18 should not enter the sea alone.
A red flag signals that the sea is extremely dangerous and you are only allowed to stand on the shore, where the water can reach your ankles.
There is also a double red flag which indicates that the sea is rough and with extremely high waves combined with undertows. With a double red flag, people should stay much further from the beach and think of a safer way to spend their time on the said day. While for many people flag signals on the beach are simply an annoying detail, remember that it is designed to indicate sea conditions and ensure the safety of human life.
