High school students taking their final exams completed their competency tests during the week of June 17-27 and have a few days left before the written exams begin, which are the main challenge of the maturity exam.

Here is the 2024 Baccalaureate calendar and how much time 12th-grade students have left to prepare.

Baccalaureate Calendar 2024

· June 17-19 - assessment of oral communication skills in the Romanian language, test A;

· June 19-20 - assessment of oral communication skills in the mother tongue, test B;

· June 19-21 - assessment of digital skills, test D;

· June 25-27 - assessment of linguistic skills in a foreign language;

· July 1 - written test in Romanian Language and Literature;

· July 2 - mandatory profile test, written exam;

· July 4 - elective profile test, written exam;

· July 5 - written test in the mother tongue;

· July 8 - display of written test results by 12:00 PM and submission of appeals between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM;

· July 9-11 - resolution of appeals;

· July 12 - display of final results for BAC 2024.

Oral exams took place on June 17

For the 2024 maturity exam, the oral exams took place as follows:

· Test A (Romanian Language) was held between June 17 - 19.

· Test B (Mother Tongue) was held between June 19 - 20.

· Test D (Digital Skills) was held between June 19 - 21.

The assessment of linguistic skills in a foreign language took place between June 25-27.

Calendar for written exams at BAC 2024

12th-grade students will take the written exams during the following period:

· July 1: Romanian Language and Literature (mandatory test)

· July 2: Mandatory profile test (e.g. Mathematics, History)

· July 4: Elective test (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, etc.)

· July 5: Mother Tongue Language and Literature

Number of students registered for BAC this year

Approximately 18,800 candidates registered for the first exam session of the 2024 Baccalaureate.

Of these, 2,514 are repeat candidates from previous sessions.

This year, fewer students registered compared to 2023, when 19,064 students took the maturity exam.

Results of the 2024 Baccalaureate

The results of the first session of the 2024 Baccalaureate will be displayed on Friday, July 8, 2024, by 12:00 PM.

Candidates will be able to check them online on the official website of the Ministry of Education: edu.ro and on the websites of the exam centers in the county where they took the tests.

They will also be able to submit appeals between 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM on the same day.

The resolution of appeals will take place between July 9 - 11, 2024, and the final results will be announced on July 12.
