Age Limit for Artificial Intelligence at School?

ChatGPT continues to cause a furore worldwide. Some see the potential and usefulness of this artificial intelligence tool, while others worry about its implications, especially in the developing generation. For example, UNESCO is calling on governments to limit the use of such AI assistants in classrooms. Above all, the organization does not want children to become vulnerable to manipulation if it comes to replacing teachers with such programs. Therefore, UNESCO does not want to rush the integration of such systems.

ChatGPT has a lot of serious capacities when it comes to education like generating essays, poems and many more. However, this raises concerns about new forms of plagiarism or fraud in schools and universities. More, many studies indicate that the frequent use of such tools artificial intelligence will lead to laziness of the brain and forgetting many useful habits.

UNESCO recommends that the minimum age for students to use ChatGPT or similar programs should be raised to 16 years. Right now, according to the own terms of the tool, it cannot be used by children under 13.

However, the headquarters do not ignore the good sides of such programs, revealing the potential of ChatGPT and highlighting how it can help students.

The future is unclear, however, such programs are taking over the world and many people are excited about their potential and making the everyday life easy, while some worry about side effects and adverse consequences. What do you think about it?
