The active substances that go from the liver to the pancreas are called hepatokines. They increase insulin secretion and inflammation. What do we do when we constantly stuff ourselves with food?

Laura Iliescu, doctor of internal medicine at the Fundeni Clinical Institute: "Insulin is secreted all the time, and it reaches a point where insulin can no longer be secreted normally. Mechanisms are forced, those cells hypertrophy. They load with substances that are not good. Those substances no longer function normally".

Cells enlarge to produce more. But due to this adaptation, they no longer perform their function.

Laura Iliescu, doctor of internal medicine at the Fundeni Clinical Institute: "When a mechanism is disturbed at a certain point, it implies that it either stops secretion or secretes, but in the periphery, as changes take place in the liver and fatty tissue. Insulin is secreted without effect as it stagnates, encountering resistance in fatty tissue. It is resistant in fatty tissue, there is resistance to its use. Due to this general inflammation, there is an inflammation. We do it to ourselves".

Inflammation leads to fatty liver, diabetes, strokes and heart attacks.
