What Does "Healthy Relationship" Actually Mean?
Many claim that a healthy relationship is a pre-condition for a happy life. However, is it easily achievable? Of course, it is very relative and it is different for every couple. But what is most important for two people to be in harmony, we will reflect on it below.
As we have already said, each relationship is strictly individual as it develops in a different way. Yet, there are a few major things that are important for it to be "healthy", namely: trust, communication and mutual respect.
Over time, many things may change that can affect your relationship with your partner to a small or large extent.
The first condition to have a harmonious and healthy relationship is definitely trust. Trusting the other person can be the cornerstone of a "healthy" relationship. Secrets and hiding the truth can often prove fatal. Your partner needs to feel relaxed and confident that you will not hurt them physically, mentally or emotionally.
Communication is the next important factor in a relationship. Talk, share, care about each other. Do it openly to build the much needed trust between you.
When it comes to respect in a relationship, it should be mutual. Your relationship will definitely not work if you do not have mutual respect for each other. If you cannot take responsibility for your actions that hurt your partner, then this behavior will not do much to build a healthy relationship. If you constantly defend your position and do not look through the eyes of your partner, then you will definitely encounter serious difficulties in getting closer. It is extremely important that your partner is heard and understood.
Of course, if you do not meet the "conditions" above, it doesn't mean your relationship is doomed. As we have already said, each relationship is strictly individual and develops differently over time.
