Not only adolescents found guilty of robberies or fights are targeted, but also young people who harm themselves due to disorders.
Teen fights are no longer limited to just rough neighborhoods. They happen in broad daylight, in schoolyards and classrooms.
In the nearest school in the Ferentari neighborhood, a quarter of pupils come from disorganized families, have a family member with a criminal record or even a parent serving a prison sentence.
Sometimes, children are tempted to follow the wrong path. What does violence in schools mean? Any act that becomes a crime, hitting and immobilizing fellow pupils or throwing objects at them. Self-harm, bullying and verbal harassment.
For these situations with criminal implications, the law requires parents to attend counseling sessions with child protection psychologists and school counselors.

Reporter: What happens if the note sent by the school administration does not reach the parents? Have there been cases where the parents of a child with a criminal history refused any communication with the school?

If they do not agree, the authorities will request a court decision to obligate the legal representatives of the minor to attend therapy sessions. In exceptional situations, counselors can recommend the involvement of another close adult to the child.
