The Senate adopted a legislative proposal during its meeting on February 12, granting students free access to museums and events organized by public institutions within the territory of Romania.

"Romanian students outside the country, beneficiaries of Romanian state scholarships, benefit from free access to museums, concerts, theater, opera, film performances, as well as other cultural and sports events organized by public institutions within the territory of Romania", states the legislative proposal initiated by a group of parliamentarians from USR, PNL, PSD and UDMR.

The same free access is granted to students within the country for museums, concerts, theater performances, opera, film and other cultural and sports events organized by public institutions, within approved budgets.

According to the statement of reasons, "students' free access transforms cultural institutions into the main providers of education and eliminates financial barriers related to access and other fees, such as photographing objects".
