The National Evaluation 2024 exams will begin on Tuesday, June 25th. The first results will be announced on July 3, 2024.

For eighth-grade students, this is the first significant exam of their lives. Therefore, it is essential for both students and parents to know the rules in the exam rooms, what they are allowed to do, what is prohibited and the consequences of violating the regulations.

Exam room rules for National Evaluation 2024

Candidates are distributed alphabetically in the exam center. It is strictly forbidden for participants to bring backpacks, bags, purses or similar items into the exam rooms.

Candidates must store these items in the designated personal belongings room, set by the commission of the educational unit - exam center. Candidates who refuse to store their items in the designated room will not be admitted to the exam.

Participants in the national evaluation are prohibited from having any type of materials in the exam rooms, such as manuals, books, dictionaries, collections, forms, memos, notes, summaries, drafts or other candidates' work, whether in their clothes, shoes, pencil cases or desks, which could be used to solve the exam subjects, according to the Ministry of National Education.

Furthermore, participants are prohibited from having any electronic devices in the exam rooms, such as mobile phones, audio headsets, IoT devices, as well as any electronic means of calculation or communication that allow Internet connectivity or access to social networks. This includes any devices that could be used to solve the exam subjects, perform calculations or communicate with other candidates or assistants within the educational unit/exam center or with the outside.

Candidates are prohibited from communicating with each other or with the outside, cheating, transmitting materials that allow cheating or exchanging sheets from their work, drafts, notes or other materials that could be used to solve the exam subjects.

National Evaluation 2024. Fraud or attempted fraud. Consequences

Violating these rules will be considered fraud or attempted fraud. Involved candidates will be eliminated from the respective exam:

· regardless of whether the prohibited materials/objects were used or not

· regardless of whether they were introduced by them, other candidates, commission members or other persons

· regardless of whether they received or transmitted prohibited materials/drafts/papers.

Candidates eliminated from an exam for fraud or attempted fraud will receive a score of 1 (one) on their written work.

Before the exams begin, supervisors will present the methodological provisions related to the correct organization and conduct of the national evaluation to the candidates and ask them to hand over all materials and objects that are prohibited in the exam room according to current regulations.

Candidates will then sign a document acknowledging the rules and stating that they are aware that non-compliance will result in the mentioned measures.

National Evaluation 2024. Audio-video monitoring

The following will be video and audio monitored during the exam:

· the rooms where commission members are instructed

· the exam centers where the national evaluation exams are conducted

· the rooms where the exam subjects are downloaded and reproduced

· the rooms where candidates' written works are handed over, evaluated and stored.

Commissions will randomly check audio-video recordings from the exam rooms after the written test is completed. If irregularities, fraud or attempted fraud are found, or if there are complaints about such irregularities, all recordings from the specified rooms in the respective educational unit will be fully reviewed.

If irregularities, fraud or attempted fraud are found, the educational unit commission - exam center will take necessary measures, which may include assigning a score of 1 (one) for fraud or attempted fraud.

Candidates who wish to submit their papers before the maximum allowed time for solving the subjects can leave the exam room no earlier than one hour after the written test begins.

Upon leaving the exam room, candidates will not receive the subjects.

In objective situations not attributable to candidates, where during the written test it is decided to cancel and rewrite the paper, the time allotted for writing may be extended by up to one hour.

National Evaluation 2024. Exam calendar

· June 11-14, 2024: Registration for national evaluation

· June 14, 2024: End of courses for eighth grade

· June 25, 2024: Romanian Language and Literature - written exam

· June 27, 2024: Mathematics - written exam

· June 28, 2024: Mother Tongue Language and Literature - written exam

· July 3, 2024 (until 2 PM): Posting results before appeals

· July 3, 2024 (4-7 PM) and July 4, 2024 (8 AM-12 PM): Submission of appeals

· July 4-9, 2024: Resolution of appeals

· July 9, 2024: Posting final results after appeals
