A renowned dietitian from the United States has revealed a few very simple changes that anyone can make in their lifestyle to lose a few pounds before the arrival of summer.

Maddie Saliba has unveiled five simple tricks to lose weight. The nutritionist says the secret is to make minor lifestyle changes and does not recommend severe diets that are "trendy".

The dietitian believes that the secret to losing weight is to permanently give up trendy diets and instead implement simple but effective routines that will help shed extra pounds.

In an attempt to encourage a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Maddie offered five tips for losing weight without giving up your favorite food, whether it's fast food or sweets.

She urges people to "stop counting calories", "eat breakfast" and introduce more protein into their diet.

Five tricks to lose weight without dieting

1. Stop counting calories

2. Eat breakfast

3. Consume protein

4. Eat vegetables for lunch and dinner

5. Keep your spirits up

"Stop counting calories. If the thought of counting one more calorie makes you want to scream, delete the apps. It's okay to focus instead on habits", explained the nutritionist, according to DailyMail.

Instead of tracking how much you should eat, you should indulge more. The doctor specifically advised people to make sure they enjoy a well-balanced breakfast every morning.

"Eat breakfast, a real breakfast. Coffee alone is not enough. Ideas: overnight oats with berries and almonds, avocado toast with tofu scramble, Chia pudding with strawberries", says Maddie.
