High school students are leaving summer vacation fun for seasonal work: "It looks good on the CV, and I also earn some money". What salaries are offered
There are still a few months until summer vacation, and some students are considering giving up summer fun for jobs.
They want to work in restaurants in big cities to earn some pocket money and gain experience for a future career in tourism.

Sergiu is a twelfth-grade student in Cluj-Napoca and is looking for a job in the hospitality industry for the summer before starting college.
Sergiu: "Work experience matters. Plus, it looks good on the CV, and I earn some money so I don't just sit around doing nothing".
And other students are already scouting the market because they want to be more responsible.
Lorand: "I'd like to work as an assistant bartender or waiter. For the summer, a month or two. Both experience and money. I'll put them aside and spend some".
Larisa: "I want to work as a waitress or cook. I'd like to try to manage on my own".
However, unlike other years, many seniors prefer to stay in cities rather than go to work on the coast.
Cristina: "I'd like to work in the summer so I don't have to stay home all day. I'd prefer to be at home with family, with friends. I would want to work as a waitress".
Carina: "We're looking for a summer job to gain experience. And money. Not at the beach. Because we have friends around here, we want to go out. We want to work part-time".
Salaries start at 3,000 lei
Although most students are heading for summer jobs, employers want to attract them for the long term, so they offer transportation reimbursement, meals and even courses.
Alexandru Giurgiu, restaurant representative: "We encourage students to come and find new passions, to develop a love for this profession, and, why not, to stay with us for a longer period. We don't necessarily need experience; we want them to grow with us".
Adina Pașca, restaurant recruitment specialist: "We have positions for cooks, pastry chefs, waiter assistants. We hope to attract as many candidates as possible".
Ciprian Boșca, Cluj County Employment Agency counselor: "With a great need for labor force, each employer has to offer something extra to attract both young people and those looking for a job".
The salaries offered for hospitality jobs start at 3,000 lei, say employers.
