At one time, dating apps were very popular, even in Romania. However, a study conducted by a team of German researchers has concluded that people have grown tired of searching for their significant other, even temporarily, in the virtual world.

Indeed, things move faster there, but the speed at which people meet new individuals is not enough, say some of those who participated in the survey.

Dating apps are still very popular among those looking for an adventure or even great love. However, more and more young people using these platforms say they feel exhausted and disappointed by these methods.

Girl: "I was receiving weird messages, and it stopped being enjoyable".

Participant: "I gave up because I come from a village, and there you know everyone when you sign up".

A study conducted in Germany on a sample of 2,400 people indicates that one in seven individuals suffers from "online dating burnout", meaning they are exhausted from digital flirting. This manifests on three levels.

Wera Aretz, psychology professor: "The first is emotional fatigue. People say they don't want to try anymore, that they can't, that they are fed up. Then, the second criterion is a cynical attitude, an emotional withdrawal. And the final level is low performance. People say they are putting in too much effort, but somehow it no longer works".

One thing is certain: in Germany, most couples end up meeting in the virtual space. According to a study, 21% of participants admitted that dating apps brought them happiness. Meanwhile, 18% said they met their partners at work, and 17% managed this through friends.

On the other hand, classic methods are also gaining ground. In a club in Berlin, events dedicated to single people take place twice a month. These could be dance classes or even parties.

The feeling is like visiting the analog world after spending too much time online. All participants hope to find something special here that helps them escape digital exhaustion.

Kilian Heller, single person: "You create an emotional connection, after a few weeks you meet the other person and then realize in just a few seconds that it's not what you wanted. To avoid disappointments, I gave up online dating".

In the end, everyone believes that fate will smile upon them and they will succeed in finding their significant other, even if sometimes it seems like looking for a needle in a haystack.
