Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski wants medical cannabis to be legal. "We must finally legalise cannabis-based medicine fairly for everyone who needs it," he said.
The ongoing war in Ukraine which started with Russia invading the country on 24 February 2022 has many distressing consequences. A speech by Volodymyr Zelensky
In his speech on Wednesday 28 June at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to politicians. He stressed that the measures to develop methods of mental and physical rehabilitation should be taken as soon as possible.
"All best global practices, solutions, no matter how difficult or unusual they may be, should be applied in Ukraine so that all citizens do not have to endure the pain, stress and trauma of war", said Zelenski.
The President referred to the draft that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was deliberating on. The proposed legislation noted that cannabis-based medicine would be used to treat cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder caused by war.
