Constant virtual exposure has a huge effect on our self-consciousness. Therefore, one of the most commonly debated topics is how the online space affects our perception of ourselves and our bodies.

The speed at which technology is developing today makes it inevitable for children, and especially young people from the so-called generation Z, not to spend time on social media. However, this in turn may have an impact on their upbringing, cultural values and standards of behavior, especially for girls.

The foundation for this are the feelings and attitudes that we have about ourselves. A recent study shows that among quite a lot of adolescent girls, generation Z, the development of some form of mental disorder has been observed, as they often compare themselves and their photos with filtered and processed footage from social media.

So, they develop a deep conviction that they must change their bodies in the same way so that they could look the same comparing themselves to unrealistic images. They begin to feel dissatisfied with themselves, they do extremely restrictive diets, they spend hours in the gym. They even tend to resort to a number of surgical interventions.

The most important thing that young women need to be aware of is that body image is determined primarily by the perception we have of ourselves. To look good, you need to feel comfortable in your own skin, take care of yourself and put your health first. Instead of spending hours on social media comparing yourself to others, make time for sports, eat healthily, have fun, make time for yourself.

When a person does the things they love, it has a positive effect on their mental health. More, when we achieve this internal balance, we start spreading positive energy and we are liked by others. Regardless of the number on the scale or the size of the jeans.
