Sexual attraction and romantic attraction are two different things. Romantic attraction does not necessarily mean that a person is sexually attracted to people of the same sex. The desire for a relationship can be outlined as the craving of an individual for a loving and intimate relationship, but not to experience a sexual desire.

Sexual desire towards a certain gender or genders is known as sexual orientation while romantic desire is known as fondness or romantic orientation.

The most common terms used to describe sexuality are the well-known gay and lesbian but actually there are many others, such as bisexual, pansexual, asexual, polyamorous, etc.

Bisexual can be described as someone who is sexually or romantically attracted to people of two or more genders. An asexual individual has little or no desire or inclination for sex. Sometimes it can also be considered as a lack of sexual orientation.

Pansexuality is sexual attraction to people regardless of their gender and gender identity. Polyamorous is a person who has or wants to have more than one partner at the same time
