The theme for 2024 was "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion", and the exhibition featured around 250 models from the collection of the Costume Institute, covering over 400 years of fashion history.

Anyway, the things were even more curious on the red carpet where the dress code of the celebrities was under the motto "Garden of Time" based on the story of the same name by James Ballard from the distant 1962. The rapper opted for the most voluminous dress of the evening, with her huge black skirt covering half the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum.

And while with her the material was in excess, we can hardly say the same thing for Rita Ora and top model Emily Ratajkowski, who had chosen a transparent dress and bodysuit without wearing any underwear.

It is difficult to describe the fashion decision of Amelia Gray Hamlin, too, whose look was reminiscent of a pregnant woman with a belly full of pink flowers. Kim Kardashian looked stylish in a John Galliano outfit, but she made more of an impression with her corset tightening causing many to wonder how she even managed to breathe in it.

The undisputed queen of the ball was the actress Zendaya who appeared with not one but two outfits. The first paired a sweeping black cape with a heavy Alexander McQueen flower crown, and the second, which was extremely beautiful, a modern version of one of Givenchy's famous gowns. Among the best was the pop icon Jennifer Lopez whose diamond-studded semi-transparent Schiaparelli gown resembled a mermaid.

The hosts of the show this year were Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez in the company of Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
