The student from Suceava who qualified for so many Olympiads that he can't participate in all of them
A twelfth-grade student at the "Ștefan cel Mare" National College in Suceava managed to qualify for a record number of Olympiads, six in total.
Paul Burcă, originally from Vatra Dornei, is a student of mathematics and computer science, with a passion for exact sciences, which earned him five qualifications this year for the National Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences. He also accidentally qualified for the Linguistics Olympiad, he said for Monitorul de Suceava.

"I have been encouraged since early grades to participate in competitions, and since the fifth grade, I have been participating annually in the National Mathematics Olympiad. Even as a child, I was interested in documentaries, captivated by Discovery Channel or National Geographic, which I believe influenced my later passion for physics", the student recounted.
He will give up on two Olympiads
Paul Burcă said he will only participate in four Olympiads this year, as that's all his competition schedule allows, and he will give up on the Informatics and Linguistics Olympiads.
He competed in the National Mathematics Olympiad during April 2nd-7th, in Târgu Mureș, and now follows the Physics Olympiad, during April 21st-26th in Brașov, the Chemistry Olympiad in Buzău and the Earth Sciences Olympiad in Arad.
"The Olympiads are not just about the competition, but also about meeting people from other counties, making connections, gaining a very rich and complete experience", Paul added.
Only one other student managed to qualify for so many Olympiads, and that was David Turtureanu, who achieved this feat in 2017.
