The CEO of McDonald's has been called to testify in the British Parliament after the fast-food chain faced allegations of sexual assault, racism and harassment in its franchises in the United Kingdom.

Alistair Macrow, the CEO of McDonald'sin the UK and Ireland, will appear before MPs on November 14, announced the House of Commons Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee in a statement cited by Bloomberg and reported by Profit.ro and news.ro.

Parliamentarians will most likely inquire what McDonald's has done to improve working conditions after BBC reported in July that over 100 current and former employees claimed they were exposed to a "toxic culture".

Workers as young as 17 years old stated that they regularly faced sexual harassment from colleagues and even managers.

The Committee will also hear from a McDonald's franchisee and two union representatives.

McDonald's is one of the largest private-sector employers in the UK. It has over 170,000 employees in 1,450 restaurants, according to the BBC.
