Shop employees in shopping centres have their hands full with tasks such as arranging merchandise, advising customers, and maintaining decor and cleanliness. Recently, the workload of those working in Warsaw has been compounded by the antics of Crawly, an influencer dressed as a green gnome.

Initially, Crawly would crawl into shops on all fours, but he has since escalated his disruptive behaviour by going behind shop counters and invading restaurant kitchens, creating chaos for the staff. His activities were finally brought to an end by Maciej, a vigilant security guard at a Warsaw shopping mall.

Maciej, the security guard who removed the gnome from the Warsaw shopping mall, has spoken out about the incident.

"Hi, this is Maciej. Here’s a brief explanation of the situation with the gnome. […] I was just doing my job, for which I am paid. However, I would have reacted the same way privately because it was the right thing to do. Thank you," he wrote on X.

He included a video in his post, thanking everyone for the positive reception of his decision. Maciej expressed happiness that his intervention was well-received by the public. He added that, in his opinion, the gnome posed a threat and disrupted public order, which justified his removal.

The security guard also highlighted the potential dangers posed by the influencer pretending to be a gnome. By stepping behind counters in shops or cafés, the individual could inadvertently cause serious accidents, such as someone being burned by hot oil or coffee. According to Maciej, this behaviour is reckless, and he is appalled that someone applauds it.

He also added that the gnome's antics annoy him greatly, and he will not hesitate to intervene again if necessary. Maciej urges the public not to remain indifferent to the gnome's behaviour.
