"It doesn't matter what religion you have". The DJ priest who transforms the place of worship into a dance floor

The parish invited a DJ priest from Portugal who organized a concert right in the place of worship. Of course, lights and powerful speakers were not missing.

The event hosted by a church in Belgium is intended to bring young people more often to the sacred place. The DJ is a priest who came from Portugal specifically for this occasion.

Guilherme Guimares Peixoto, priest: "On the dance floor, your religion doesn't matter. The church projects a beautiful image. We need to promote our values, but at the same time, we need to be united".

The DJ priest is already a star in Portugal and other countries. He has gathered no less than 350,000 followers on social media after mixing music for the Catholic Youth Day for one and a half million faithful last year.

Guilherme Guimares Peixoto, priest: "To share my faith on the dance floor, I didn't think such a thing was possible when I became a priest".

The Portuguese priest discovered his passion 17 years ago when he started organizing concerts of church hymns to raise money for the poor.

Sofi Van Ussel, Youth Pastoral Flanders: "For him, it was the first time offering a private concert of such magnitude. And for us, it's something unique. We are looking for a new way to communicate with young people about faith".

The idea has caught on among the youth. 250 parishioners with a desire to dance participated.
