For Gen Z, the young generation born after 1997, health care and understanding the normal cycle of the body are important. The period can provide valuable clues about a woman's health and well-being. But how do we know if our period is normal or there might be a problem?

Regularity: The first sign of a normal cycle is the regular occurrence of periods. Irregularities can be an indicator of problems such as polycystic ovaries or thyroid dysfunction.

Duration and intensity: The length and intensity of periods can vary from woman to woman, but changes in this aspect can indicate problems such as endometrial abnormalities or hormonal imbalances.

Pain and discomfort: Discomfort during period is normal, but intense pain can be a sign of endometriosis or other diseases.

Changes in menstrual cycle: Major changes in period frequency, such as excessively long or short intervals, may need medical consultation.Mental symptoms: Generation Z realize that periods may be associated with mental symptoms like depression and irritability, but they should not dominate the behaviour.

Abundance: The established norm for the amount of blood during period is about 30-40 ml, and quantity exceeding this norm can be a warning sign.

Bleeding out: Changes in the color or texture of the blood should be monitored, and if significant changes are noted, a specialist should be consulted.

It is important for Gen Z to be informed about the normal and abnormal aspects of periods and to consult a physician in case of suspicion or unusual symptoms. Health is the key to an active and successful life, and understanding your body's signals is the first step to maintaining optimal well-being.
