Horrifying scenes in Portland. Bus drivers accused of "trying to kill" protesters
A protest by the Just Stop Oil activist group took place in Portland, UK on Thursday 19 October. Demonstrators tried to stop a bus carrying migrants who were being taken back to the barge on which they had arrived in Europe. The protest could have ended in a tragedy.
On Thursday 19 October, activists from Just Stop Oil organised a demonstration. The protesters tried to stop the bus carrying some refugees. Its driver disregarded the people gathered in front of the bumper and without a second thought tried to push them off the road. Activists say outright that the man wanted to run them down.

Just Stop Oil activists versus a bus driver
23 activists were waiting on the route a bus full of refugees was to take. They wanted to stop the vehicle and show their discontent that people looking for a better life would be returned to the barge that brought them to Europe.
As the protesters stood in the road, they no doubt expected the bus to stop at least for a moment. However, the driver of the vehicle had other plans. Without a moment's hesitation, he started to push against the gathered activists, trying to push them off the road. The participants in the protest did not hide their indignation.
"We are saddened to report that we were unable to halt transportation of refugees to the prison - the driver rammed through the block, risking killing those in front," Just Stop Oil activists wrote on Instagram.
Just Stop Oil activists are appealing to the Home Office to look into the matter. This is because the protesters believe that there was a man on the bus who urged the driver to run them over. They want the authorities to find out who the suspected man is and make him face the consequences.
As we read on dailymail.co.uk, the Home Office has strongly criticised the environmental group for their actions and said it is in contact with the police over the incident.
