World Car-free Day, which is traditionally celebrated on September 22, is getting more and more popular, even in Sofia. The date varies in major European cities but the important thing is that they all strive to reduce harmful emissions.

No need to wait until the end of September. If you are tired of the hectic city traffic, traffic jams and noise – we can suggest to you five ways to go to work without a car.

Walk

Perhaps the simplest solution to the problem. Still, hopefully your work isn't miles away. However, walking is often the easiest way to get from point A to point B in a city.

Ride a bike

Is your work still far away and you can't walk? Looking for a faster option? Why don’t you try the bike! It is healthy for you and, at the same time, it is good for the nature. If you get tired of spinning, think of getting an electric bike.

Take the bus

That’s why we do have public transport and buses and not only them – to be able to travel through the big city without driving our own car.

Train?

Again, it depends on where exactly you live, however, taking the train or subway is also an extremely good option to go to work. You can always see the timetable of the trains around you to judge whether it is possible to use them. If not, take the subway, which provides a fairly fast ride.

Scooters

It is probably the favorite way to get around for Gen Z. We have all seen that it is possible, and it is becoming more and more common scooters to be used not just for fun, but for transportation, too. It is nice that you don't even need to go spending spree to buy a personal scooter, you can rent them. If you are in a hurry or you are tired of walking, give it a try!
