ACCOMMODATION

The cheapest option are hostels, which offer a bed in a shared room for only 8 euros per night. A private double room in them costs between 20 and 30 euros per day. Prices for mid-range hotels range from 50 to 70 per night. Lithuania offers luxury hotels, too, but you have to pay between 100 and 300 euros for one night in them. There are also alternative places like tree houses, luxury tents or houseboats that will cost you around 50-150 euros per night.

TRANSPORTATION

Air ticket prices range 100-300 euros for a one-way ticket. Public transport (buses and trains) is a cheap way to get around - tickets range from 1 to 5 euros. Taxis are also affordable - 2-3 euros per kilometer. Car rentals are also a good option - prices are around 30-50 euros per day, credit card required.

FOOD

If you want to enjoy authentic local food, you should try cepelinai (potato dumplings stuffed with meat), kugelis (grated potatoes, eggs and bacon) and cold soup made of beetroot, kefir and hard-boiled eggs. You will pay around 5 - 10 euros for a traditional Lithuanian meal. Local beer costs around 3-5 euros.

If you are on a budget, choose street food markets or fast food chains where you will spend from 3 to 7 euros. In a mid-range restaurant you will pay from 15 to 30 euros per person. In luxury restaurants food costs from 50 to 150 euros per person.

ENTERTAINMENT

Lithuania offers free and cheap attractions - Gediminas Castle Tower, Church of St. Anna, the hill of the crosses, the hill of the witches in the village of Juodkrante. There are also many historical and architectural places such as the National Museum, Museum of Genocide Victims, Rundale Palace, Trakai Island Castle in Lake Galve. Prices range from 10 to 50 euros per person.
