Croatia is a beautiful country. Do you ever wonder how expensive it is? In this article we will let you know.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation usually takes up the largest portion of the total cost. Our recommendation is not to stay in all-inclusive resorts but to choose a small hotel where a room will be from 60 to 90 euros per night. At a luxury hotel, you need to pay from 150 to 300 euros per night. A cheaper option is to get a private room (40-50 euros per night) or an apartment (60-100 euros) on Airbnb. People with a limited budget may stay in hostels where a bed costs around 20-30 euros.

TRANSPORTATION

Public transport prices are relatively affordable. The country does not have a large railway network and the most efficient intercity transport (and often it is the only one) is by bus. Costs vary, but you should definitely allocate a budget around 10-15 euros per trip. If you have large luggage, you will be charged 1-2 euros, which is paid directly to the driver. Car rental is also a good option and prices start at 25-30 euros per day.

FOOD

It is hard to estimate what budget you will need because you may eat cheaply in Croatia, but if you are going for fine dining, you will be spending a lot of money. It is advisable to avoid tourist oriented restaurants. If you stick to the above, a meal will not be more than 15-20 euros per person; a cheaper option is to stay somewhere where you can cook your own food.

ENTERTAINMENT

Walking and lying on the beach are free. You will need money if you go on a boat cruise (50-100 euros) or visit a museum (5 euros). Alcohol prices in Croatia are not that high unless you want to drink directly on the water. The difference between local and imported alcohol is almost double. A glass of Croatian wine is around 2-2.50 euros, a cocktail like gin and tonic - 7-10 euros.

Basically, you can easily visit Croatia on a budget of around 55-255 euros per day if you find ways to cut costs on some days. You should bear in mind that Dubrovnik is quite more expensive than other cities. The country is also an attractive destination for Generation Z (people born from 1996 to 2010), who are hungry for knowledge and adventure.
