Paulina Mikula of "Mówiąc inaczej" ("Speaking Differently") channel on YouTube has a message for people commenting on her appearance and age. She is another internet celebrity that pleads her viewers to keep their comments for themselves.

Paulina Mikuła is a Polish philology graduate. Since 2013 she has been running the popular YouTube channel "Mówiąc inaczej". These are videos about the culture of the Polish language, how it is evolving and what influences it. Guests of Mikuła's channel have included Ralph Kaminski, Bovska and Dawid Podsiadło.

On 21 June the youtuber confessed in a post on Instagram that toxic trolls had targeted her for the past several days. The judging comments concern Mikuła's appearance and age.

"For the past few days, I've seen comments being made on the internet about my age, my breasts (according to some they are saggy and that I'm supposed to hide them, according to others I don't have any) and my weight."

Fortunately, the host of "Mówiąc inaczej" has a very assertive approach to the subject. She used the commentary on the case as an opportunity to remind her female subscribers that their true value does not lie in their appearance or attractiveness.

"Men write something about a ‘wall', a 'wall', that is, the point at which a woman for the opposite sex becomes unattractive, invisible. According to them, the wall is the 30th birthday. 🤡
"I would like to say loud and clear: WRONG. This is a story invented to humiliate us, objectify us, degrade us. And that is the problem of the men writing, not ours."

The 34-year-old youtuber also addressed the misogynistic narrative of linking a woman's attractiveness to her age. We fully agree with the author that these are purely attempts by some men to bolster their fragile self-esteem. And that they wouldn’t be shunned by women if they kept such comments for themselves.
