Non-binary cartoon characters. Cartoon Network celebrates Pride Month
In 2023 Pride Month is celebrated in June. It is during this time that stories of people from the LGBTQ+ community in particular are portrayed. Cartoon Network has decided to add an LGBTQ+ aspect to one of their animated TV shows.
Since 2022 we can watch "We Baby Bears" series on Cartoon Network. The animated TV show tells the story of three baby bears: Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear. The characters travel around the world in search of the perfect place to live.

To celebrate Pride Month, which runs throughout June 2023, the cartoon's creators have decided to add new characters who will be representatives of the LGBTQ+ community.
Non-binary characters on Cartoon Network
The creators of "We Baby Bears" want to introduce children to who non-binary people are and how they can be approached. In one episode, the bears come to help their friend Polly the parrot, who needs help.
From the storyline, we can learn that Polly's parrot uses the pronouns they/them and another character (presumably an otter) introduces herself as she/them.
"We feel it's important to mention this in the cartoon"
This is not the first time LGBTQ+ characters have appeared in the cartoon. One episode featured trans-identifying male activist Dominique Jackson, who played the character Cassi.
The cartoon's creators have also released an official statement. In it, they say that the entire crew is supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, which is also the reason they are hiring actors from the community.
" During the production of ‘We Baby Bears,’ a few crew members came out with they/them pronouns, and we felt that it was important to reflect that in the show," added the cartoon's creators in a statement.
