The introduction of anti-drug courses and tests in Bucharest schools is viewed positively by Bucharest students, according to the extensive questionnaire initiated by the Bucharest Prefecture, to which over 20,000 students responded.

Thus, 60.2% of respondents agree with the introduction of drug tests in schools, and 50% agree with the periodic blood tests to detect substances in the blood, while 77.2% believe that introducing anti-drug courses into the school curriculum would be very beneficial for young people.

"Hence, 60.2% of respondents agree with the introduction of drug tests in schools, and 50% agree with the periodic blood tests to detect substances in the blood", the press release from the Bucharest Prefecture states.

An overwhelming majority of students, 77.2%, consider that introducing anti-drug courses into the school curriculum would be very beneficial for young people.

Moreover, 61% of the over 20,000 students who responded to the questionnaire believe that people who consume prohibited substances are rather individuals with illnesses, not criminals, the source cited indicates.

A few months ago, the Bucharest Prefecture initiated an extensive public debate regarding the introduction of measures to prevent the consumption of prohibited substances and drugs among young people and students in Bucharest schools.

In this regard, Bucharest Prefect Rareş Hopincă announced the implementation of a comprehensive survey in the capital, to which over 20,000 students responded, the mentioned source further states.
