In the Name of his Family: Messi Turned down an Offer of more than 1 Billion Euros
The Argentinean striker Lionel Messi has turned down an offer of 1.4 billion euros from Al Hilal, - the reason: his family.

Al Hilal president Anmar Al Khaili revealed details of the failed negotiations with Messi.
"We were in contact with Messi when his contract with the Parisians was expiring. We offered Lionel 1.4 billion euros but he turned it down because his family wanted to move to America. It is surprising that the footballer turned down such an offer in the name of his family. He tried to convince his family but he complied with them and refused without hesitation because family is more important than money," said the president of Al Hilal as quoted by NIBC.
We remind you that in July last year, Messi moved to Inter Miami as a free agent. Over a year, he scored 25 goals in 29 matches in all competitions, and together with Inter Miami, Messi won the League Cup.
Messi and his wife Antonella Roccuzzo have known each other since childhood and have been a couple since 2007. She is a successful businesswoman and model. They have three children – Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. They got married in 2017, and the wedding was called "the wedding of the century".
