Ursula Haverbeck has had numerous legal troubles over the years. She became well-known for spreading disinformation and denying historical facts. Due to her inflammatory rhetoric and dubious views, she has been entangled in legal issues since 2004.
Nazi grandma’s controversial views
Ursula Haverbeck has a lengthy history of legal troubles. She has been convicted multiple times for various offences related to her controversial views but has managed to avoid severe punishments. In August 2018, her appeal against the Court of Verden's conviction for publishing articles denying the Holocaust in the local newspaper Stimme des Reiches (Voice of the Reich) was rejected by the court. The so-called 'Nazi grandma' had already accumulated several fines and 30 months of jail time for similar offences.
95-year-old Nazi on trial again
The 95-year-old was once again sentenced in 2022, this time to 12 months' imprisonment for denying the mass murder of Jews during the Holocaust. Ursula Haverbeck has not started serving this sentence yet, and more legal action may be pending. The unrepentant ‘Nazi grandma’ shows no reluctance or remorse for her actions.
Currently, legal proceedings are underway against Haverbeck for statements made during an interview with NDR's "Panorama." In the interview, she proudly denied the mass extermination of Jews at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Her trial is set to continue on 12 and 26 June.
