Brother killed his 12-year-old sister. He mistook menstruation for bleeding after first sex
A 12-year-old girl was brutally murdered by her own brother. The tragedy occurred in the city of Ulhasnagar, India.
The drama happened in the town of Ulhasnagar in the Thane district of India. A 30-year-old man murdered his 12-year-old sister with extreme cruelty. The girl was getting her first period. The stains on her clothes were thought by her brother to be evidence of an affair and the initiation of sexual intercourse.

Police reports state that the girl lived with her older brother and his wife. The man abused his sister for several days. Eventually, the girl died.

After noticing blood stains on his sister's clothes the man concluded that she must be having an affair. He refused to listen to the explanation that the girl had started menstruating. The brother physically abused the girl for four days. Hew tortured her by burning with pliers. The girl's life couldn't be saved by doctors.
The case has stirred public opinion. The man has been charged with murder, and the girl's body is awaiting an autopsy.
This horrible murder is a reminder of the need for sex education and raising awareness about menstruation. Feminism continues to fight for treating women and girls with respect and deference.
The crime happened in India. According to a 2018 Thomson Reuters Foundation report it is the most dangerous country for women. Cultural circle, of course, does not explain the bestial behavior. "Family values" and "religious values" come first there - ahead of basic human rights.
As a reminder - the Law and Justice Party (PiS) in Poland is pressing for a ban on sex education, misunderstanding it as "sexualization of children." The US state of Florida discusses ban on teaching about menstruation in schools as well.
