Apple Plans to Implement AI Technology on a Large Scale
Apple is very ambitious to turn its devices into a sort of artificial intelligence (AI) centers. This news would be extremely interesting for Gen Z as the company will use not only its own AI models, but also those of partners, the first being OpenAI.
However, Apple also started negotiations with almost all other major AI algorithm developers, the Wall Street Journal reports. After rumors days ago that Apple was in talks with Google about the Gemini platform, the journal now says that Apple has "conducted discussions" with Meta, Anthropic and Perplexity about the potential integration of their AI systems. At the moment, the negotiations are at an initial phase and no agreement has been reached. Apple's approach of simply implementing features from competitors has been criticized by some analysts.
They expected the company to rely on its designs and show ideas that the competition did not have. Instead, Apple prefers the approach of using the services of others to implement in its devices and allowing users to choose and combine various options with its own algorithms as a complement.
This idea is more practical and easy to implement, significantly shortening the implementation time. According to TechCrunch, this may be the more profitable strategy as it will make AI functions practical and accessible now, without waiting a long time.
For now, the only official AI partner of Apple is OpenAI, which will integrate the GPT-4o algorithm in Apple Intelligence. It is expected that this will change within this year and the company will add other algorithms. It is not clear whether they will work together within the Apple Intelligence package or whether users will be able to choose which platforms to use over others.
Gen Z would probably be very excited about the idea of Apple implementing AI technology. This would provide them with smarter and more personalized products and services that meet their needs and preferences.
