A Dream Come True: A Girl Who Cannot Walk Went to the Rila Lakes
Are there any impossible dreams? Without being able to walk, a girl from Kyustendil manages to get to the Seven Rila Lakes. Volunteers, mountain rescuers and guides carried her on a special stretcher to take her to the top.
After helping to make one of Danaya's dreams come true, the mountain rescuers from the team in Kyustendil wrote on Facebook:
"Today we were part in making Anna-Danaya Stoykova’s dream come true, namely to walk to the 7 Rila Lakes. A wonderful day spent in the company of people with pure hearts. We thank you for the nice moments!"
15-year-old Danaya was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. She has been going to rehabilitation since she was little and doing more and more every day to get back on her feet. She likes being around people, traveling and visiting different places like any Gen Z kid.
Danaya's mother, Silviya, believes that with love and perseverance, anyone can conquer heights.
"In this way, we show that children with problems can also achieve their dreams. They should know that they are not alone in this world", said Silviya.
Besides a gift for Danaya, who lives with her mother and grandmother, the campaign was also an attempt to find donors to help the family financially. Thus, the child will more often visit specialized rehabilitation, which can only be done in Sofia.
Danaya's story is an example of the power of the human spirit and empathy. She has demonstrated that with a united effort and heart, even the most difficult dreams can come true. Let us continue to support such initiatives and help those in need achieve their dreams.
