We will tell you the story of a high school graduate - it will be harder for her than the others on the threshold of adulthood because she will struggle in life alone. 19-year-old Iveta Stefanova is about to apply for admission to university and follow her dreams.

She grew up in SOS Children's Villages where she learned a lot. She has the emotional support of her friends, but he does not have the financial opportunity to study at a university. However, SOS Children's Villages, which have special programs come to her aid and will help her to keep pursuing her goals,.

"I want to study digital media and PR at the University of Economics in Varna. I feel as if I were lost. I hope to meet many people, I will work to sustain myself. I am entering the unknown, things are changing a lot. I grew up in a SOS Children’s Village because my mother couldn't take care of me. It wasn’t very nice there. I didn't have many things, the food was not enough. When I was 7 years old, the social services came and took me. I lived in the eighth house in the village. Our adoptive parents didn't want to separate me from my brother and they adopted both of us. There I had more food and clothes, and most importantly, I already had parents. They taught me to appreciate the little things", says Iveta.

According to her, she was very worried when she had to get used to the new environment.

"The idea was the older ones to teach the younger ones in the family, we were several children. I learned to share and be responsible. Suddenly there were many people who loved me - it was nice. At 14, I wanted to study outside of Tryavna, that's why I went to Veliko Tarnovo, to a housing center. It was much different than before, I was more independent", shared the girl.

She said that she was thinking of finding a job in Varna so that she could help herself with the university fees.

"The hardest thing for me will be when I go to the new city and I don't know anyone. I’ll probably be very worried at first, but I’m looking forward to it. It gives me strength to want to live up to the expectations of the people who helped me get this far."

Like most young people of Gen Z, Iveta dreams of starting her own business and teaching her team the things she went through. It is important for her to be good and help people. And after all, life is ahead of her and she has the power to achieve all her dreams.
