Anyone can refresh the air in their home without using synthetic or expensive fragrances. You need only a few natural ingredients from your pantry or garden.

This topic surely excites Gen Z, who are turning more and more to the nature.

Here are 10 ideas to make natural fragrances:

1. With citrus fruit

Fill a mason jar with chunks of orange or lemon (or both), then add a few sticks of cinnamon or rosemary for a zesty citrus air freshener.

2. With a soap

Grate some of your favorite soap, then put the flakes into cloth bags. Then tie them with a string and place them around the places you want them to smell fresh and clean.

3. With a homemade scented candle.

Melt the beeswax in a water bath and add 10 drops of essential oil. Pour it into a mold in the shape of your choice and add a wick. This way you will have a homemade candle.

4. With fabric softener

Boil a litre of water with 150 ml of your favorite fabric softener. Let it cool down and put it in an aroma vaporizer along with 300 ml of alcohol.

5. With essential oil

Fill a spray bottle with water, add two tablespoons of baking soda and shake it vigorously. Then add three drops of your favorite essential oil, shake it again, and you have an air freshener for several weeks.

Dry version: In a mason jar with a lid, mix three tablespoons of baking soda and nine drops of a pleasant-smelling essential oil. Shake vigorously, bore a hole in the metal lid, and you will quickly smell the aroma in the room.

6. With cinnamon

Take a string and tie a few cinnamon sticks around a large candle. When you light the candle, the heat will make the whole room smell like cinnamon.

7. With rosemary and honey

Heat up 200 ml of water, a few sprigs of rosemary and two tablespoons of honey on the cooker. As soon as it starts boiling, let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat. When it cools, pour it into a glass and enjoy the wonderful aroma.

8. With mint

Put five drops of mint essential oil on several cotton pads. Then place them in the rooms so that they wouldn’t be visible.

Another option: Mix 250 ml of water, a sprig of mint and the juice of one lemon and boil them. When it cools down, put it in a spray bottle and you can refresh the air.

9. With gelatin

Put a glass of distilled water on the cooker; when it boils, add four packets of gelatin. Stir until the gelating is completely dissolved and then take away the mixture. Add another cup of distilled water with 20 drops of essential oil and pour into a mason jar.

10. With dry flowers

Put dry flowers in a mason jar and leave them for a week, stirring every day and keeping the jar covered. Then add five drops of essential oil and close it again for a month, stirring every five days. Be sure that you will have a fantastic long lasting air freshener.
