Helplines that can save lives
The City of Warsaw has launched the 24-hour helpline 511 200 200 for adults struggling with suicidal thoughts. This service, available around the clock, connects callers with experienced psychologists, therapists, and social workers who provide free emotional support, psychiatric and legal consultations, and, if required, temporary shelter.
Additionally, 112 is the primary emergency number across the European Union, accessible from landlines and mobile phones in life-threatening situations.
Warsaw Crisis Intervention Centre
People facing emotional crises can also access a wide range of services the Warsaw Crisis Intervention Centre provides. The centre operates three local support points across the capital:
- In ĆrĂłdmieĆcie, at Plac DÄ browskiego 7, near the ĆwiÄtokrzyska subway station.
- In MokotĂłw, at 4 Belgijska Street, where a domestic violence counselling centre is also housed.

The centre offers support to adults experiencing emotional crises stemming from situations such as the loss of a loved one, relationship difficulties, or work-related problems.
Stolen sign
Despite the positive intentions of the project, one of the suicide prevention signs on the Poniatowski Bridge has already been stolen, sparking outrage among residents. The incident, reported by Miejski Reporter, underscores the importance of these signs in offering help to those in need.
