Last Generation activists coming to more Polish cities seeking support
Last Generation activists have announced plans to expand their protests beyond Warsaw. Until now, their protests have been limited to the capital, but this is expected to change soon. The group is set to take action in Katowice, Poznań, and Wrocław.
Activists from across the globe are united in their call for immediate action, urging politicians, business leaders, artists, and ordinary citizens to confront the looming climate catastrophe. They warn that the time for self-congratulation and false reassurances is over. Only decisive, radical action—particularly in reducing greenhouse gas emissions—can offer hope.

Last Generation expands to new cities
Until recently, Last Generation’s activities in Poland were limited to Warsaw. However, the group believes that the desire for change and the willingness to engage in protests extend far beyond the capital. To support these efforts, Last Generation has announced the expansion of its operations to three additional cities: Katowice, Wrocław, and Poznań.
In a recent Instagram post, Last Generation wrote:
"Go to lastgeneration.org and sign up for an open meeting. The climate crisis is devastating entire Polish cities through massive floods. More and more citizens from various places are angry with the government’s actions. Sign up for a meeting in one of our new local groups:
- Upper Silesian Urban Area – Wednesday 2.10
- Poznań – Friday 4.10
- Wrocław – Friday 11.10
- Warsaw (online) – Tuesday 1.10."
Ludwik, a Silesia-based activist who recently joined Last Generation, emphasised the urgent need for action: "As the climate crisis continues to ravage Polish cities and claim lives, we can no longer wait. City by city, terrified citizens are protesting the government whose policies could lead to the suffering of billions."
What are the Last Generation activists’ demands?
Poland’s Last Generation activists have presented two major demands to the current government. First, they call for the complete reallocation of funds earmarked for constructing new expressways and motorways, directing 100% of this money towards enhancing regional and local rail and bus services. Additionally, the activists are pushing for introducing a PLN 50 monthly ticket, providing affordable access to regional transport services across the country.
