Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental problems the whole world should tackle. Plastic waste can be found in every corner of the globe, from the depths of the ocean to the tops of mountains. There are trillions of pieces of plastic in the oceans and the estimates show that this number will be increasing. Namely because of that we need to take immediate actions.

The most effective way to reduce plastic pollution is to reduce our personal use. There are several easy ways to do it in our daily life. The recommendation to Gen Z.

Using reusable shopping bags

One of the easiest ways to reduce plastic waste is to switch to reusable shopping bags. Every year, several trillion plastic bags are used and thrown away and many of them end up in the oceans and pollute them. You can choose bags made from natural materials like cotton.

Getting plastic straws out

These straws contribute to ocean pollution. They are often too small to be effectively recycled and end up in the ocean where they can harm marine life. If you switch to reusable metal or glass straws, or ones made from natural materials like bamboo and paper, you can help reduce plastic waste.

Your own personal water bottle and coffee cup

Single-use plastic water bottles and coffee cups are another major factor contributing to environmental pollution. You can choose water bottles made of stainless steel or glass which are extremely durable and long-lasting.

Use reusable food containers

Single-use plastic containers such as plastic wrap and food bags are a major source of plastic waste. By using reusable containers, such as those made of glass or stainless steel, you can help reduce the amount of plastic waste generated.

Avoid pre-packaged food

Prepackaged foods are often wrapped in multiple layers of plastic, which can be difficult to recycle. By avoiding prepackaged foods and buying fresh produce instead, you can help reduce the amount of plastic waste generated. Buy food that comes in paper or cardboard packaging.
