Climate activists storm stage in West End. Performance interrupted
Activists from the Just Stop Oil group stormed the stage of the Sondheim Theatre in London's West End. The activists wanted to draw attention to the problem of fossil fuel extraction.
The activists interrupted the performance of Les MisƩrables by locking themselves to the stage.

According to Just Stop Oil, four activists chained themselves to the stage using flexible bicycle locks. The protesters forced their way onto the stage during a performance of a famous song "One More Day". Just Stop Oil reported that the performance was stopped and the theatre evacuated at around 9.10pm.
"Les Miserables" crew has released a statement
An official profile on X (Twitter) has shared a statement from Delfont Mackintosh Theatres general manager William Village. The post reads:
"During the first half of our performance of Les Miserables, individuals from Just Stop Oil invaded the stage, abruptly stopping the show. Following our safety protocols, the audience were asked to leave the auditorium and the Met Police attended. Regrettably, there was insufficient time to enable us to complete the rest of the performance.
"Whilst we recognise the importance of free expression, we must also respect our audienceās right to enjoy the event for which they have paid. Tickets purchased through Delfont Mackintosh Theatres will be automatically refunded. If you booked through a ticket agent or third party, please contact your point of purchase to obtain a refund," William Village wrote.
The Metropolitan Police say five activists from the Just Stop Oil organisation were arrested at the theatre.
