Spectacular fund-raising. Kasia no longer has to sell food in freezing conditions
Kasia Kośmider has diastrophic dysplasia and was selling handmade food products to raise money for her operation. However, she no longer has to do this as people have raised the required amount for her treatment in less than 24 hours. Krzysztof Stanowski was one of the people who helped to raise the funds.
Kasia Kośmider is a nine-year-old girl who has faced many challenges in her young life. She was born with diastrophic dysplasia, a disease that hinders the growth of bones and cartilage. Kasia has undergone 11 surgeries so far, but more may be necessary. To help fund her medical treatment, the brave girl has been selling handmade preserves. Sosnowiec councillor Damian Żurawski shared Kasia's story with internet users to raise awareness about her situation.

Virtual preserves on sale
On December 2nd, councillor Damian Żurawski shared a post on X about Kasia, a girl from Będzin who sells homemade preserves to fund an expensive operation despite the cold weather. Żurawski's post caught the attention of Make Life Harder, whose community rallied together to raise money for Kasia.
Krzysztof Stanowski, a journalist, also contributed over PLN 10,000 to Kasia's treatment. However, some internet users insulted Stanowski in the notes they could attach to each donation. One anonymous donor even called him a "halfwit". Despite this, Stanowski encouraged people to insult him if it meant more donations for Kasia.
Juice for Stanowski
Kasia doesn’t want to be indebted to the people who helped her raise money. Damian Żukowski shared a video in which Kasia asked Krzysztof Stanowski for his address so she could send him homemade raspberry juice as a token of gratitude.
Within 48 hours of starting the fundraiser, Kasia received enough funds for her expensive operation and future treatments. Initially, her family had hoped to raise PLN 646,000, but the collection has already surpassed PLN 889,875 and continues to grow. Marcin Gortat has also contributed to the cause.
Kasia's family plans to donate any extra funds to cover additional operations she may need. Since Kasia no longer needed to sell her preserves, she donated them to orphanages to spread cheer during the holiday season.
