Poland biggest beneficiary of EU funds in 2023
Research conducted in Germany identified which countries benefit the most from the European Union, and the results are clear: Poland ranks among the top beneficiaries.
It is well known that the EU, as an economic and political union, strives to improve the quality of life for its citizens. Member States contribute regularly, with these funds being later redistributed as subsidies, loans, and development aid. Poland has always been a primary recipient of these benefits. According to a report by the German Economic Institute in Cologne, Poland is the top beneficiary of EU funds.

This means Poland regularly receives financial support for initiatives in development, the economy, ecology, and job creation. On the other hand, Germany is the largest net contributor to the EU budget, followed by France, whose contributions are nearly half as large.
Poland is the largest recipient of the EU funds
On Monday, 12 July, a report detailing the net contributors and beneficiaries of the European Union was released, authored by German economist Saminy Sultan. According to information from Polsat News, Germany remains the EU's most significant net contributor, having paid ā¬17.4 billion more than it received in 2023. France ranks second, contributing approximately ā¬9 billion more than it received.
The report, published by the German Economic Institute in Cologne, highlights Poland as the EU's largest beneficiary, receiving around ā¬8 billion more than it paid. Romania follows in second place with a net gain of ā¬6 billion, while Hungary rounds out the top three, receiving ā¬4.6 billion more than it contributed.
