Healthy diet is a topic that is always discussed and it is always relevant, especially among the young generation - Gen Z. Carbohydrates are often described as the enemy of good health and the ideal figure, but are they really that dangerous?

First and foremost, carbohydrates are a source of energy for our body. They are needed for the functioning of the brain, muscles and other organs. A large portion of our daily allowance of calories comes from carbohydrates. Excluding them completely from the diet can lead to a lack of energy and fatigue.

For Gen Z, an active generation involved in sports and physical activity, carbohydrates are vital. They support post-workout recovery and help the muscle growth. But the key is in the choice of carbohydrates.

Not all carbohydrates are equal. Undoubtedly, sources such as refined sugar and white pasta are high in calories and can contribute to obesity. Therefore, rather than giving up carbohydrates altogether, it would be wiser to focus on complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, vegetables and fruit. They are rich in fibers and vitamins, and provide long-lasting energy while helping to maintain a stable blood sugar level.

In conclusion, carbohydrates should not be enemy number one for Gen Z or anyone else. The key to a healthy diet is in the right choice and balance. Combine complex carbohydrates with protein and healthy fats, practice in moderation and exercise regularly. So you will be able to enjoy delicious and healthy food without worrying about your health and figure.
