Cheese or meat? Which one makes me gain less weight? High-fat meals also harm the liver
At most 50 grams a day. We're talking about cheese, Romanian Telemea cheese or fine cheeses. It might seem very little, but the human liver cannot process more fat at once. It doesn't process them; they stay in the bloodstream.
The phenomenon has a negative impact on all organs
Cheese or meat? Which one makes me gain less weight? Obviously, meat. The fat in cheese predominantly consists of fats called triglycerides.

In excess, it means daily cheese consumption. Cheese does not exist in nature as is; it is a milk concentrate. In nature, we only find leaves, eggs, fish, mushrooms, fruits and meat.
High-quality Romanian Telemea cheese contains over 50% fat. Cheese contains over 55% fat. Cheese does not exist in nature as is; it is a milk concentrate. The recommendation is to limit yourself to a maximum of 50 grams a day.
The fat in cheese, known as triglycerides, reaches the small intestine. And then the liver. What does excess intake mean? The liver becomes overwhelmed and doesn't process them well. Hepatic enzymes that process fat are overwhelmed. Anca Sima, member of the Romanian Academy, explains.
Anca Sima, PhD Academician, Institute of Cellular Biopathology: "What was found? As blood levels of lipids, triglycerides and cholesterol rise, these enzymes begin to decrease activity. And then this fat is no longer processed and stays in the blood stream, traveling to other organs, where a small portion is taken up. And the remaining fat is taken up by the liver?"
This is how fatty liver occurs. But the phenomenon affects all organs. Fat, known as triglycerides, travels from the liver to blood vessels. Here they find a place to stay. And they form atherosclerotic plaque.
In fact, fat from the blood migrates to all recipient organs. An important stop is the pancreas. Cells in the pancreas, especially those producing insulin, are attacked by fat. Vital.
For this reason, if your blood sugar is 126, meaning you are pre-diabetic, it is advisable to take medication that targets blood fat.
And the diet is important. Why go low-fat when you have high blood sugar? High blood glucose. What are the connections?
Anca Sima, PhD Academician, Institute of Cellular Biopathology: "In the pre-diabetic state, the first approach is to lower lipids; statin-type drugs are prescribed, which lower cholesterol, or fibrates, which lower triglycerides, or a combination, precisely because these lipids are one of the causes".
One of the reasons why pancreas cells stop producing insulin. One of the causes of type 2 diabetes.
A low-triglyceride diet is recommended even in perfect health. Not just during illness. In perfect health, limit high-fat cheeses. Cheese, French cheeses, Romanian Telemea cheese, sour cream.
Anca Sima, PhD Academician, Institute of Cellular Biopathology: "It's as if we'd focus only on 2-3 proteins, the rest is lipids, concentrated right there. A good cheese has 40-50% fat and is very concentrated. And the Romanian Telemea cheese is the same, it means a lot of triglycerides, not to mention sour cream".
Excess triglycerides taken from food follow the whole circuit: small intestine - liver - blood vessels - internal organs. And they cause harm. Therefore, it's in everyone's power to control their plate.
