Sports company Adidas has released the 'Let Love Be Your Legacy' collection to celebrate the upcoming Pride Month. Twitter users don't like the fact that women's swimwear is presented by a person with a male physique.

Adidas has already released its new collection in May. This was created particularly for Pride Month. Unfortunately, 'Let Love Be Your Legacy' has already caused controversy. It's all because the women's swimwear is advertised by a person with a male physique.
Adidas advertises women's swimwear on a man's body
The 'Let Love Be Your Legacy' collection was created in collaboration with South African queer designer Rich Mnisi. It was inspired by a love letter the creator wrote to his younger self. During the upcoming Pride Month Adidas wants to show that sport should be free of prejudice.

The knitting swimmer Tom Daley is one of the faces of Let Love Be Your Legacy campaign. Yet, he is not the one who has caused controversy. The problem is the women's collection, which features swimwear. Internet users are outraged that the product in the picture is presented by a person with a male body.
Adidas and women's swimwear on a man's body - the neutrality that didn't work out
People accused the brand of 'erasing women'. This is exactly what happened when Nike brand was advertised by transgender tiktoker Dylan Mulvaney. Back then, users called for a boycott of the company and even burned the brand's clothes
Fortunately no such drastic steps have yet been taken in the case of women's swimwear from Adidas. Nevertheless, many internet users were outraged by the brand's collection and announced that the company should go bankrupt after such a 'woke' campaign.
Some people take a slightly different approach. They say that they don't understand why Adidas put such a picture in the women's collection. If the brand wanted to be gender-neutral, it should have simply created such a category, rather than dividing products by gender.
It is difficult not to agree with this view. What's more, it is not known what gender identity the person with a male body who advertises a women's swimming costume has. They could be a transgender person, for all we know, in which case the way we write about them here could be perceived as transphobic. This brand's negligence is quite problematic.
Sure, it's worth appreciating that Adidas is trying to break stereotypes this way, but it's a shame that they're doing it wrong. It would definitely be easier if the brand simply released a gender-neutral collection.
